Welcome to Avondale United Methodist Church! We are a Reconciling (LGBTQ+ affirming) Church in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri.

What We Do – Our Ministries
Food Pantry
Open Wednesdays and the First Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Student & Youth Ministry
AUMC is committed to quality spiritual, social, and intellectual formation of our youth and children. Our middle school and high school group is self-described as “a family that is welcoming to all”. We are service-oriented as well, and aim to promote and share our faith with others through service.

Where We Came From
In 1914 Kansas City was a bustling cattle town and Avondale was showing signs of growing.
The small town consisted of four or five houses, one little store and a boxcar railroad station. The Quincy, Ohio and Kansa City Railroad came into the area and their “right of way” was given to them by James Prather. In exchange for the land, Mr. Prather was offered the privilege of naming the new train stop. His daughter Flora Campbell named the train stop “Avondale” and so we began…
